David Ruebain

David has been a practising solicitor for 19 years. He is currently the Director of Legal Policy at the Equality and Human Rights Commission and the Lead Director on the Single Equality Bill. He previously headed a department of Education and Disability law with Levenes Solicitors. David is also an ADR Group Accredited Mediator and a founding member of The Times Newspaper Law Panel.

David has published widely and taught nationally and internationally on education and disability law. He is a recent Chair of the Law Society’s Mental Health and Disability Committee; a Member of the Editorial Board of Disability and Society journal and a Fellow of the British American Project.
