Jonathan Finney

 

Jonathan Finney is Head of External Affairs at Stonewall, the national lesbian, gay and bisexual equality organisation. Jonathan played a leading role in Stonewall’s parliamentary campaigns to secure new legal protections against discrimination by businesses and public services, implemented in 2007, and a new criminal offence of incitement to hatred on grounds of sexual orientation, passed in May 2008.

Before joining Stonewall in 2005, Jonathan worked in a number of central Government departments, including delivering the Civil Partnership Bill in the Women and Equality Unit. Stonewall's current campaigns include Education for All, tackling homophobia in education, and securing equal legal recognition for same-sex parents and their children. Stonewall currently works with over 430 organisations across the private, public and voluntary sectors through its Diversity Champions programme for employers. http://www.stonewall.org.uk/
