Kay Carberry CBE
Kay Carberry CBE
Kay Carberry is an equality and employment expert with 20 years leadership and management experience. Currently Assistant General Secretary of the Trades Union Congress (TUC) (2003 to date) and prior to this was Head of Equal Rights Department at the TUC (1988 – 2003).
Other government appointments have included Ministerial Advisory Group on Older Workers (1997-98); Ministerial Advisory Committee on Work-Life Balance (1998-99); Ministerial Steering Group on Illegal Working (2003-04); Work and Parents Task Force (2000 – 2001); Women and Work Commission (2005-07 and 2009) and Equal Opportunities Commission (1999-2007).
Kay has been a Commissioner for the Equality and Human Rights Commission since 2006, for which she receives a £400 daily attendance. and is expected to undertake approximately 20 days per year for this role.
Kay declared when responding to the political activity questionnaire that she canvassed on behalf of the Labour Party at the last General Election, with no further political activity declared during the past five years.
